Now that the New York Knicks have won their first NBA championship in 53 years, many are wondering if a trip to the White House is in order.
It’s typical for an American sports team to visit the White House after winning a title, but that has become more hit and miss in recent years.
When asked if he was down to make a trip to the White House, Knicks guard Jose Alvarado said he is if that’s what his team wants to do.
“If there’s a chance, I’m going wherever my teammate goes,” Alvarado said to TMZ Sports.

Will the Knicks be invited to the White House?
No official invitation has been extended to the Knicks just yet, or it at least hasn’t been made public, but it will be coming soon and chances are the Knicks will accept.
For starters, we know that President Donald Trump and Knicks owner James Dolan have been friends for years.
Trump was also a guest of Dolan for Game 3 of the NBA Finals, which was controversial because of the issues his attendance caused in and around Madison Square Garden.

Bags were banned, getting through security took longer and the watch party outside of MSG was even canceled, much to the chagrin of Knicks fans.
Ultimately, things went off without a hitch, though, except for the Knicks losing that game, which was their only loss of the NBA Finals against the San Antonio Spurs.
Knowing the relationship Trump and Dolan have, it’s safe to say Knicks players will be strongly urged to attend if the team is invited to the White House.
Knicks set for parade
Before their inevitable trip to the White House, the Knicks will have their championship parade.
The parade will take place on Thursday, June 18, and will start at 10 a.m. ET.
